Conclusion: 7-Day Shiseido White Lucent Challenge

Sometime during the earlier part of the week's challenge...
Before

E:
Oh no, nag-b-break out ka.
(Oh no, you're breaking out)

Me:
Yeah, pero ok lang yun.
(Yeah. But that's ok.)

E:
Pano na yung shiseido project mo?
(What will happen to your shiseido project?)

Me:
O_o Is this for real? Concerned sya sa blogging hobby ko!?)

I think mas ok nga yun, malalaman natin kung hindi nga talaga ako magkakaron ng post-acne marks.
(I think that's actually a good thing. We will really know if it will keep me from getting post-acne marks.)

I will forever remember last week as the week when I knew how much E takes my beauty blogging hobby seriously.

It was also the week when my skin got the most compliments it's had in 29.75 years of existence.

As expected, I didn't experience significant change spots-wise.  To my standards, my skin is already pretty great compared how it was more than a year ago.  It's not poreless-level smooth but it's the best it's behaved since I was a baby.

The 7th Day
Before Serum and Mask
Please excuse the messy hair.

With the minor spots that I have, no significant fading occurred.

Before

After 7-Days
Hello spots! You're still there.

But skin texture-wise, oh... my... goodness... I feel like everyday was facial day. My skin looked smoother, my pores seem blurred, and the fine lines seem diffused. Every single day, I received compliments along the lines of:

Parang blooming ka...

Anong ginawa mo?

You look good today (with matching himas sa mukha) - E.

Note that my skin didn't get lighter. I'm just not skillful with the camera. I think I was supposed to adjust the white balance feature (?).

The Finale
Putting on the facial mask for 10 minutes.

After removing the mask
and washing off the "essence".
Aaaahhh... Suppleness.

I wish my skin could look like this foe-ever.

I don't think the serum and the mask made my skin lighter in any way. I didn't put the serum on my neck and if you check the photo below, you can see that my face didn't get lighter than the rest of me.

 Again with the white balance,
aargh, must learn to tinker with my camera.

To be honest, I don't care much for whitening. What matters to me is what it did to my forehead after it suffered a pimple apocalypse earlier this week.  Look how the pimples didn't leave any evidence of existence.  Ok, there's a few very light marks here in there... But as I said -- VERY light.

I don't think the serum made the zits disappear though. Credit for that should go to the ton of topical acne medication I was using alongside this serum. But the dark marks that I usually get from when my pimples heal... they're absent with this bad boy. Usually they fade only until after 2 weeks. With the serum, my pimples turned from red to very light freckle-like brown spots that can be left without makeup.

If the serum + mask combo were currently within my current acceptable spent on skin care, I would repurchase. Currently, the 19g tube is still not empty, I wonder how long before it goes out. If the cost per day falls within an acceptable range, I just might get it (taking into consideration the discount coupon that Shiseido sent me. If not for that, I won't even consider).

Nonetheless, it was a really fun experiment.  I get a kick for everytime E examines my face to see how the 7-day challenge was going.

Conclusion
I can't say much as to how it would work for freckles and age spots coz I don't have them. But with old pimple marks, 7 days wasn't enough to make them fade. With fresh ones, this is awesomeness in its purest form.

Interesting! It looks like we have the same skin problems. Wouldn't pick this up though, the price is prohibitive.
