I'm growing a liking to men's grooming products.
It all started with the Gillette Mach 3. E insisted that there's a huge difference between disposable razors and the more expensive ones that have 3 blades and state of the art pivoting precision.
I was not convinced so he had me try his razor to shave my armpits. From that point on, I never used any other razor ever again. I even bought my own so we won't have to switch blades when one of us has to use it.
I like shaving with the Mach 3 coz I get the whole thing done with only 3 passes each underarm. I underwent 3 diode laser hair removal sessions in the past so note that my pits aren't that bushy. Anyway, I noticed that I get less nicks and fewer ingrown hairs since I used Mach 3.
My men's razor affair was followed by using men's shaving cream. Seeing E use shaving cream almost every day heightened my curiosity as to why he uses it and how it works. In the past, I used to just soap my pits and shave away. Then I found out that shaving is so much better with shaving cream. I get even lesser nicks and I cant remember when the last was that I got ingrown hairs. Add to that, I also get to see which areas I already shaved which is particularly helpful when I shave my legs.
Using men's shaving cream was more for convenience though. Because I could just buy shaving cream for women but I didn't want to add any more products in the shower. Currently, E and I use Gatsby's Shaving Foam for Sensitive Skin. Tip: Don't dare try mentholated ones, they'll burn your armpits like hell.
The most recent addition to my list of men's products is Olay Men's Solutions Multi-Solution Revitalizing Cream. I've been using this for about 2 weeks now and so far I'm loving it.
Since I ran out of moisturizers some time late last year, I've been using body lotion on my face (Cetaphil Restoraderm) and some of the sample moisturizers I got from Glamourbox. Cetaphil Restoraderm is awesome but as it is getting warmer, I decided to buy a lighter moisturizer.
Initially, I was set on buying Olay Total Effects with Cooling Essence, but I thought Php 799 was too expensive for a basic moisturizer that won't do anything else but moisturize.
I had the brightest idea of checking out their men's line thinking that if it's basic I'm looking for, I'll probably find it in the men's section. If I find anything there with ingredients similar to cooling essence, I'll buy it.
And I did.
It only cost me Php 399 -- half as cheap for the same amount of product.
First 10 ingredients - Olay Men's Multi-Solution Moisturizer:
Water, glycerin, niacinamide, isohexadecane, dimethicone, isopropyl isostearate, polyacrylamide, sorbitan stearate, cetyl alcohol, sucrose polycottonseedate
First 10 ingredients - Olay Cooling Essence:
Water, glycerin, niacinamide, isohexadecane, dimethicone, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, panthenol
Based on the ingredients list Olay Men's Multi-solution Moisturizer might be a good dupe for Olay Total Effects Cooling Essence.
I am mostly likely to write in-depth post for this moisturizer. For now, let me just say that I like it a lot and it doesn't smelly as musky and heavily fragranced as I imagined it would be.
Let me know if you also use products marketed for men. I hope I'm not alone.

Cool! The only thing that keeps me from buying products targeted for men is if they have a masculine scent. Otherwise, it's A-ok!
I sometimes use L'oreal Men Expert Facial Wash! I love how squeaky clean my face is after using it.
I also shave my legs and my pits. I see a lot of shaving creams and gels around here somewhere, gotta try it too. Thanks for the idea!
Good thing the scent wasn't manly. But I wish it was unscented..
Haven't really looked into l,oreal men. I'll check that out next time I Go to Watsons
I often borrow some of my husband's stuff, maninly his razor. I use his eye cream too.
Less nicks and less ingrown hair? I'll have to try mach 3 too!
Where did you buy your Gatsby products? A cousin abroad is making pabilin for us to buy.
I got them from Watsons (Aside from shaving cream they also have oil control film, bifesta makeup remover, and hair products)
I have to use mach 3 too! I often wax but there are times when I have to shave too. I've used Rexona Men deodorant in the past whenever I go to aerobics. I dunno I just like the chemistry of the scent with my sweat, hahaha. Looking forward for the moisturizer review!
I used to steal some of R's Gatsby and Nivea facial wash, hehe!
Let me know how it goes. ;)
Should get E to wear some eye cream.
Hope it works just as well for you. Let me know how it goes.
A road test entry will be up sooon.
